We’re not just about setting goals this year we’re determined to kick them!
We’ve got a list of 20 things you can do this year to improve your health, wellbeing and life in general!
Make a list of 20 small things that you enjoy doing, and make sure that you do at least one of these things every day.
2 PERSONAL GROWTH
Make it a point to feed your mind with the thoughts, words, and images that are most consistent with who you want to be, what you want to have, and what you want to achieve. Do you know what motivates you most? Create a moodboard and inspire yourself.
3 LEARN EVERY DAY
Set yourself a task to learn at least one new thing each day: the name of a flower that grows in your garden, the capital of a far-off country, the words to your favourite song, even looking up a word you’ve seen or heard that you like the look/sound of in the dictionary.
4 SIMPLE SAVER
Make an effort to pay for things with cash, specifically notes, then, put all of your coin change in a jar and see how much money you can accumulate. Take yourself somewhere special.
5 SLOW DOWN
Stop multi-tasking; do one thing at a time without distractions and acknowledge your achievements before you move onto the next.
Set a reminder on the Lifecard App to drink water on a regular basis throughout the day, even setting a task to drink at least 2 litres of water a day, track your progress all within the app.
When someone is talking to you, remain focused on what they’re saying, instead of rehearsing in your head what you’re going to say next. Creating a deeper connection with others gives us an unconscious sense of belonging as well as a better understanding of who we are in relationships.
Do one kind deed for someone every day, however small, even if it’s just sending a silent blessing their way.
9 EMBRACE THE STRUGGLE
You cannot improve your life without going through change. You cannot go through change without head-butting struggle. No struggle, no progress. Your life will improve considerably when you can let go and swiftly move with the flow instead of against it.
10 BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
You’ve got to believe in the possibilities. You’ve got to believe that tomorrow can be better than today. There isn’t a skill you can’t learn; there isn’t a discipline you can’t try; there isn’t a class you can’t take; there isn’t a book you couldn’t read.
11 GET YOUR BEAUTY SLEEP
Track your sleep pattern within the Lifecard App, try a few different ways of winding down at the end of the day and add in your notes of what works for you, such as links to guided meditations, names of songs or podcasts that help you relax.
12 THINK OUTSIDE, NO BOX NEEDED
Nature opens up the space for improvement. It’s a pure source of energy, it’s free and available for us to use at any time we want. It will help you unwind and relax, improve your memory and creativity, and reconnect with what is important to you.
It will also open your mind, build your confidence, break down your barriers, learn to depend on your own smarts and be willing to reach out of your comfort zone to try new things and make new friends.
14 BE PRESENT
Honor the past, learn from it, accept it and let it go. Don’t obsess or worry about the future. Life is more manageable when you are grounded in the present. Achieve clarity through mindfulness practices such as deep breathing and meditation.
15 PRACTICE GRATITUDE
when you focus on being thankful for the little things you’ll have a deeper appreciation for life in general. Simply write down in your journal five things you’re grateful for each day and watch your perspective on life start to change.
16 MOVE YOUR BODY
We all know how important exercise is, so do something that will make you feel and look good. Try yoga, pilates, spin class, dancing, running, kickboxing or join a gym. Lifecard allows you to set appointments such as 1 on 1 PT classes and track your steps all within the app! View your progress with the measurement dashboard!
When you give back to people or things that are less fortunate than yourself you start to appreciate your quality of life. Volunteer at the children’s hospital, serve food at a homeless shelter, read to the elderly, foster a pup in need, donate clothes to Salvation Army or Goodwill.
18 CLEAR YOUR SPACE
A clutter-free living and/or work environment creates a feeling of ease and contentment in your home and office life. A neat and tidy space allows you to perform daily tasks more efficiently.
19 CREATE A BUCKET LIST
This list is to help you make the most of each day. Instead of letting your days float by in a blur, use a bucket list to give your life purpose, focus and direction.
20 FACE YOUR FEARS
As you work through your fears, you build courage and strength, gain wisdom and learn to overcome dark thoughts. Understanding our fears helps us develop compassion for others.
